Saskia and Ulf

saskia-ulf 6

Their Workshop:

Languages: German, English

Saskia and Ulf live together with Heiko in a pansexual poly family. Their getting together came from the desire to live in a community that focusses on group sexuality and a natural way of life, as well as the effect of both aspects on primary instincts and metaphysical cognition.

In recent years they have experimented with various forms of living food, animal and vegan raw food and their effect on libido, and on sexual and social behavior.

Saskia has lived and worked for 10 years in Berlin as a management consultant. Since early on in her life, she has been concerned with nutrition, health and alternative forms of cohabitation. After different experiences in monogamous, open and closed polyamorous relationships she found again and again her need for and her ideal in a community whose conventions go beyond gender, age, sexual bias or social role.

Ulf came to natural fresh food nutrition more than 15 years ago and therefore has comprehensive experience on the subject. His ideas on this:

At the beginning… there was enjoyment…

“healthy nutrition with predominantly fresh food as well as an ecological agriculture close to nature and the examination of life in future-oriented communities means to me a further logical step toward a suitable way of life,  to be able to live naturally, consciously and more intensively…”

By several visits to a community with a research center for instinctive eating and social behavior in France Ulfs interest in a more primal form of love and sexuality was aroused. With good reason those may still be assumed to be a primeval disposition in our genes. In his conception, this comprehensive WE-love in prehistoric times created in us a connecting transcendence and certainly could have been lived as a community relationship (group marriage).

Within this range he has already researched and worked for several years, in order to develop such a sustainable community.

The Bonobo Garden

saskia-bonobo_02

Around 10,000 Bonobos are found only south of the Congo River and north of the Kasai River (a tributary of the Congo), in the humid forests of the Democratic Republic of Congo of central Africa. They are an endangered species, due both to habitat loss and hunting for bushmeat. Today, there are at most several thousand Bonobos remaining.

Sexual intercourse plays a major role in Bonobo society, being used as what some scientists perceive as a greeting, a means of conflict resolution, and post-conflict reconciliation. Bonobos are the only non-human animal to have been observed engaging in all of the following sexual activities: face-to-face, genital sex, tongue kissing and oral sex.

The sexual activity happens within the immediate family as well as outside it. Bonobos do not form permanent relationships with individual partners. They also do not seem to discriminate in their sexual behavior by sex or age, with the possible exception of abstaining from sexual intercourse between mothers and their adult sons; some observers believe these pairings are taboo within Bonobo society.

When Bonobos come upon a new food source or feeding ground, the increased excitement will usually lead to communal sexual activity, presumably decreasing tension and allowing for peaceful feeding.

The Bonobo Garden is planned as a happening. Saskia and Ulf will show a short movie about the life of the Bonobos and share some thoughts on connections betweeen nutrition and sexuality. After that, the space will be opened for all forms of apish interaction. A ambiance of jungle sounds and a selection of typical bonobo food will be provided. The rest will be left to the fantasy of the participants: a one Hour Rain Forest in the midst of Berlin!! Clothing, as well as the use of tools are optional, communication is reduced to onomatopoetics.
